J M Packaging’s new patented concept of a retort stand-up pouch with a recloseable zipper opening continues its success in the UK Food Market with the launch of a new range of Asda Marinades.

The vibrant, gravure printed pouches are available in four varieties – Italian, Cajun, Smoky Barbecue and Sweet Chilli.

The material specification is microwaveable and offers 12 months ambient shelf-life once retorted.

The inclusion of a recloseable zipper opening means that the consumer can marinade their meat or fish in the pouch, close the zipper to keep in all the flavour, and place the pouch back in the fridge prior to cooking.

The pouch also offers an easy opening facility for consumers, which eradicates the need for scissors to initially open the pouch. Tear notches have been added to each side and a laser scoring across the width of the pouch has been included to further ease the opening process.

This innovative concept is the perfect solution for marinading meat and fish for barbecues this summer.

The recloseable Asda Marinades range is also accompanied by two smaller foil retort pouches. These pouches offer 24 months ambient shelf-life when retorted and are available in two variants – Honey & Mustard and Moroccan.
